Cancer Care

Registered Nutrition Consultants (R.N.C's) are professionals trained in nutrition who educate individuals and groups about the benefits of a sound nutritional program and healthy lifestyle to encourage the body to build optimum health. Our bodies have an innate healing ability. If we break our leg, our bodies will pull together all the required nutrients and energy to re-build the complex living structure of bone. The job of an RNC is to assist a person in providing the right environment for healing within their own body and to help them provide ample nutrients.

No two people are alike! Since every individual is bio-chemically unique, a Registered Nutrition Consultant will make an individual assessment, taking into account stress factors, current exercise levels, family history, medication usage and previous lifestyle factors, in addition to daily eating habits. From this point, specific recommendations can be made with regard to helping clients make the best possible food choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. These lifestyle changes can have a long lasting effect on the quality of life.

How is diet related to Cancer? In 1999 the World Cancer Research Fund combined with the American Institute for Cancer Research to review expert reports on diet and cancer around the globe. The resulting 700 page study Food, Nutrition and the Prevention of Cancer: A Global Perspective points out the following:-

The two most important ways to reduce cancer risk are the avoidance of cancer-causing agents, of which tobacco is by far the most lethal, but which also include biological agents, viruses and bacteria, and the habitual consumption of diets high in those foods and drinks that protect against cancer.

"The panel estimates that recommended diets, together with maintenance of physical activity and appropriate body mass, can in time reduce cancer incidence by 30-40%. At current rates, on a global basis, this represents 3-4 million cases of cancer per year that could be prevented by dietary and associated means."

What to Expect.  Sally Errey's personal approach is to implement foods in their "whole" form (imagine a whole orange, compared with orange juice, compared to a vitamin C pill) to maximize nutrient intake and to achieve balance. It is through modern refinement and processing of our food that we have become nutrient deficient and thus more susceptible to depressed immunity and disease.

This whole-foods approach to healing is not new, just forgotten. It can be beneficial no matter which treatments for cancer are chosen, as it's underlying purpose is to strengthen the body, with the added benefit of gently de-toxifying our over-burdened system. Ultimately, the cells in our bodies are built from the raw materials we eat. The more suitable our food choices are to our specific requirements, the better cell structures we can build.
